With the wings of AEGEAN and its “own” aircraft the Greek Men’s National Basketball Team flies to Milan

Go Greece: warm wishes from AEGEAN and all Greeks for the journey of the men’s national basketball team to Eurobasket 2022.

For yet another year, AEGEAN will be on the side of the Greek Men’s National Basketball Team, as the exclusive air carrier of the official beloved team of all Greeks and dedicates a brand new Α320neo aircraft to the international players and their journey in this year's Eurobasket 2022 tournament.

The renewal of the sponsorship agreement between AEGEAN and the Hellenic Basketball Federation for the 8th consecutive year, as well as the livery with the selected basketball being depicted, were presented by the Chairman of AEGEAN, Mr. Eftichios Vassilakis and the President of the Hellenic Basketball Federation, Mr. Evaggelos Liolios, at a special event which was held at the technical base of the company. At the same time, it was announced that the popular preparatory tournament “Acropolis” is now renamed to “AEGEAN Acropolis” and it will take place in Athens, on August 17-19, signalling the inauguration of our men’s national team’s journey for the biggest basketball competition of Europe.

ΑEGEAN has been the exclusive air carrier of the Hellenic Basketball Federation since 2014 and has carried our international players to all top-tier sport events that the national men, women and youth teams partake into, honouring our country with significant distinctions.

The “aircraft of the men’s national team” already is travelling the wish of AEGEAN and all Greeks to 138 destinations in Greece and in Europe, while on August 31st it will travel our international players to Milan by a special, exclusive flight, to contest in the European competition starting in September.

The Chairman of AEGEAN Mr. Eftichios Vassilakis stated “We are excited to support our Men’s National Basketball Team to this journey once more and we wish them to come back with the highest distinction. We are, and will remain, close to the Basketball Federation and our international players, supporting their efforts to promote our country abroad and to lavish on all Greeks moments of pride and emotion.”

The President of the Hellenic Basketball Federation, Mr. Evaggelos Liolios stated to this regard: “This is a very graceful symbolism that the wings of this impressive AEGEAN aircraft will propel the National team to open its own wings, in this grand sports challenge of Eurobasket 2022. The collaboration between the Hellenic Basketball Federation and the major Greek air carrier is very significant and the renewal of the trust and the continuation of this partnership is a special honour.
