AEGEAN announces the launch of a new cycle of its Pilot Scholarship Program, which has been implemented since 2018, offering once again this year, 40 young men and women the opportunity to pursue a career as professional pilots. The program, which covers the majority of tuition costs required to obtain an integrated commercial pilot license, aims to cultivate the next generation of the company’s pilots, while also contributing to the long-term strengthening and development of the aviation sector in Greece.

Since 2018, AEGEAN’s Pilot Scholarship Program has offered more than 240 young people the opportunity to take their first steps in the aviation industry. Of these, 130 have successfully completed their training and started their professional career as captains in the AEGEAN and Olympic Air aircraft, while an additional 110 candidates are currently in training. In collaboration with two of Greece’s most renowned aviation academies, Global Aviation and Egnatia Aviation, AEGEAN ensures that participants receive comprehensive theoretical and practical training required to obtain a commercial pilot license. Following the completion of the program, candidates continue their type rating training at the new AEGEAN│CAE Flight Training Center, located within the company’s new technical base. Upon successful completion of their studies, immediate professional career within AEGEAN and Olympic Air is ensured.

Lasting up to 20 months, the program provides new talent with streamlined access to a rigorous and high-cost professional training, with total training expenses per pilot exceeding €90,000. With a total investment exceeding €15 million to date, AEGEAN’s Pilot Scholarship Program underscores the company’s enduring commitment to nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals, while a similar initiative has been launched for Aviation Engineers.
