Yet another success for AEGEAN, which was voted Europe’s Best Regional Airline for the eighth year running, at the 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards

For the eighth consecutive year, and for the ninth time in ten years, the airline consistently holds First place for the quality of its services in the preferences of passengers worldwide 

AEGEAN continues to be one of the favorite airline companies of passengers worldwide, by obtaining the title of Europe’s Best Regional Airline at the 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards, a global benchmark of airline excellence. For the eight consecutive year, AEGEAN proves, through a renowned international institution, that it is possible for a Greek company to stand out, among 335 airlines, for its quality and efficiency, and continue to score highly in the passenger survey. 

Commenting on AEGEAN’s award, Mr. Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, stated: “Aegean Airlines have achieved a remarkable success being voted by customers as Europe’s Best Regional Airline for a record eighth successive time. Aegean Airlines were ranked highly by travelers for the high quality of staff service which is supported by a strong product offer.”

Over 100 customer nationalities participated in the survey with 20.36 million eligible entries counted in the results of the largest survey conducted between August 2017 and May 2018 (in English, Spanish and Chinese). 335 airlines are featured in the survey results. 
A key directive is for travelers to make their own, personal choice as to which airline they consider best, underlining the brand as the Passenger’s Choice Awards.

About the World Airline Awards:

The World Airline Awards are the most coveted Quality accolades for the airline industry. They are often referred to as “the Oscars of the aviation industry” and are a global benchmark of airline excellence. 

Celebrating their 18th anniversary, the World Airline Awards are independent and impartial, introduced in 1999 to provide a customer satisfaction study that was truly global. Travelers across the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the award winners.  
The online survey operated from August 2017 to May 2018, together with invitations sent to previous year respondents in the survey database (total 24.45 million customers). 

Customer survey forms were offered in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese. The highest nationality increase in the 2018 survey was Chinese customers with an additional 3.5 million entries.
