Aegean Airlines to launch flights to Paphos

Thursday, 19-03-2009

AEGEAN AIRLINES continues its dynamic progress focusing on satisfying the market needs and offering quality services to its passengers. In response to the demands of the Cypriot market, AEGEAN now adds Paphos to its Cyprus destinations.

As of April 15 2009, AEGEAN will offer flights between Athens and Paphos 3 times a week.

Flights will be serviced by the 168-seater brand new AIRBUS A320 (until May 2009, the company is expected to have twenty-one AIRBUS A320321 aircraft) or by the four-engine 112-seater AVRO RJ100 aircraft. With the addition of Paphos, AEGEAN will fully cover the Cypriot market with 76 flights from Athens and Thessaloniki to/from Larnaca and Paphos, whereas, in July and August, the company will increase its flights to 84 per week by adding flights from Rhodes and Heraklion to Larnaca.

The flight schedule has been designed so that connections with the 17 domestic destinations are both possible - with a minimum waiting time at the airport of Athens - and increase the choice of destinations for Cypriot passengers.

AEGEAN’s CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis said: “we are pleased to strengthen our presence in the Cypriot market, which already includes services to Larnaca from Athens and Thessaloniki.” adding that  “In this route too, Aegean will focus on quality, as it does everyday in the market, in its ten years of operation. Passenger traffic to Cyprus will grow significantly, boosting tourism in Greece and Cyprus. We want to thank our passengers and promise them that we will continue to dedicate every possible effort and investment to prove worthy of their expectations and trust”.
