Athens International Airport awards AEGEAN for its development in 2005

This year's Airline Marketing Workshop, organised by Athens International Airport (AIA), was highlighted by the special awards presented by AIA to the airlines that recorded the highest passenger development in 2005. In recognition of AEGEAN contribution to the airport's overall growth AEGEAN was awarded with two honorary prizes.

AEGEAN awards as per respective category were the following:

Overall Traffic Development

Aegean Airlines was awarded for presenting the highest passenger volumes increase among the winners of the regional sub-categories.

• Fastest Growing Airline per geographical region
  (Highest percentage passenger growth, 2004-2005)
• Aegean Airlines was awarded as the fastest growing airline for the domestic market.

It is worth noting that during the past three years, AEGEAN has contributed 50 percent of the passenger growth at the new Athens International Airport, making Aegean the dominant traffic development force in Athens.
