Aegean purchase agreement signature

Dear Mr. Vassilakis, representatives of AEGEAN Board, management of AEGEAN, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen.

Good morning and welcome to this ceremony marking the contract signature with AEGEAN AIRLINES for 8 A320 plus 12 options of the A320 Family of aircraft, the world's most advanced single aisle aircraft. I would like to thank you all for joining us today for this important event.

What a year! Indeed, AEGEAN AIRLINES was not the ERA Gold Airline in 2004/2005 and is not the Silver Airline in 2005/2006 by hazard but thanks to its dedicated and professional staff and its level of exigency.

Therefore the goal we have achieved is one which we all have been working towards for a long time, in order to ensure that the A320 is the best choice for AEGEAN AIRLINES's harmonised development.

It has been for Airbus a professional challenge and a personal pleasure to work with you. Since the earliest days of its project AEGEAN AIRLINES has shown clear foresight and competitive spirit in its evaluation process. Its high professionalism, efficiency and commitment have provided invaluable guidance on key drivers as comfort, productivity and economy for the aircraft selection. Our teams at Airbus were very proud to participate in such a challenging time with AEGEAN AIRLINES!

The A320 will be a step ahead for AEGEAN AIRLINES regular operations to European destinations as well as Domestic destinations and we thank you for choosing Airbus to meet your requirements and build AEGEAN AIRLINES future fleet.

Indeed the A320-200 offers the most spacious cabin of any jet in this category. Wider seats and wider aisles create a more enjoyable seating arrangement for passengers, while state-of-the-art systems help to provide a pleasant atmosphere that reflects the commitment to passenger comfort found in all Airbus aircraft. Most European flag carriers rely now significantly on Airbus aircraft to provide the most comfortable, reliable, efficient and profitable air transport services.

This A320-200 fleet will be delivered in early 2008 and will be powered by International Aero Engines V2500s. It will be accommodated with a comfortable two-class configuration and its attractive livery and the new and modern interior will reflect well the fresh and dynamic image of AEGEAN AIRLINES. Three new leased aircraft will enter into service in Spring 2007 with the full Airbus support in terms of training and maintenance.

Mr Vassilakis, we recognize the confidence and trust which AEGEAN AIRLINES has placed in our products as the basis for your ambitious modernization program. We take this responsibility very seriously and, on behalf of everyone at Airbus, I would like to assure you of our complete commitment to support the airline in every way possible as it moves into this new stage in its young but dynamic history.
