AEGEAN AIRLINES submits bid for Olympic Airlines

Aegean Airlines submitted a proposal to participate in the final phase of Olympic Airlines flying activities. Details of the proposal could not be disclosed due to company’s commitments towards state authorities’ advisors on the privatisation.

It is known that there are serious legal and operational difficulties in implementing the pursued privatisation. Should our proposal be short-listed, we will explore possibilities to overcome these difficulties during negotiations with the advisors of the state authorities. Aegean will proceed to a deal only if there can be a viable solution, allowing high-level service and competitive prices for passengers.

Aegean’s aim in participating in the privatisation of Olympic Airlines is to contribute to the reform of Greek air transport. Aegean will support any other bid the government picks, provided it complies with Greek and European Union Law.
