June 2016 - Tribute to Chios

We want to bring you closer to Greece and we dedicate each month to one or more Greek destinations by filling our flights with beautiful images, familiar aromas and beloved flavors.

In June, our flights will have the aroma of “mastiha” (mastic) and we will discover together the beauties, local flavors and traditional products of Chios.

So, all of you visiting our business lounges during June will have the opportunity to “travel” to Chios, even if this is not your final destination, by tasting various local products. You can taste the beloved mastiha “submarine” with sour cherry, mandarin marmalade and mandarin spoon sweet, sandwiches with mastelo cheese, spreads of eggplant, tomato and honey with mastiha from Chios, sweet delights as well as the famous “ELMA” chewing gums. You can also enjoy mandarin juice and “Mastiqua” sparkling water or if you prefer something with alcohol, you can try the “Fresh Chios Beer”, “Apalarina” ouzo, mastiha liqueur and “Ariousios Afstiros” red wine.

All of you flying with us during June will have the chance to watch onboard a documentary video dedicated to Chios, that will present the well-known and hidden beauties of the island, its lovely beaches, the life of the residents and their eating habits.

Also, we will offer to all of our economy class passengers, local products such as cocoa biscuit with mastiha cream, sweet bread, mastiha halva, sweet delights, mastiha pie and baklava with mastiha. The passengers of business class will have an extra choice in their menu, based on a traditional recipe, such as veal with oven potatoes and mastelo as well as shrimps with handmade pasta and almond liqueur sauce, that will come with “Apalarina” ouzo, mastiha liqueur and “Ariousios Afstiros” red wine.

Our passengers both in economy and business class will be offered refreshing tissues with essential oils of mastiha (the oil is an offer by the Chios Mastiha Growers Association).

We look forward to offering you a taste of Chios!
