Terms and Conditions of Participation

OBJECT - PURPOSE


AEGEAN and its group (AEGEAN together with Olympic Air Aviation Joint Stock Company (hereinafter referred to as "AEGEAN Group") announces the launch of the Civil Aviation Engineer Training Scholarship Program for the acquisition of the Professional Civil Aviation License (Part 66 - Aircraft Maintenance License - hereinafter referred to as 'AML') (hereinafter referred to as 'the Program'). The purpose of the Program is to provide the opportunity to complete the training of 20 Engineers and to obtain the necessary qualifications for the exercise of this profession within the AEGEAN Group's workforce, in accordance with the Group's needs.

The Program is for full-time studies with a duration of 2400 hours exclusively at the EASA Part 147 certified educational institution of the group, Olympic Air Maintenance Training Organization, based in Peania, 2 km of Peania-Markopoulou Avenue and Athens International Airport "El. Venizelos" (hereinafter referred to as the "Organization").

It is clearly stated that it is at AEGEAN's sole discretion to place the candidate(s) in the programme of study starting on Monday, 20 October 2025.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS


To participate in the Programme, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Have either European citizenship or be a permanent resident of the European Union.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent qualification in the country of origin. 
  3. Proof of knowledge of English at least at level B2.
    Please note that the submission of a degree from an English-speaking university exempts candidates from the requirement to provide proof under 2 and
  4. Not have been convicted of a criminal offence.
  5. Male candidates must either have their military service fulfilled or have been legally discharged or have a deferment of military service in force for a period of at least the duration of the training. Note that the deferment of enlistment is the responsibility of the candidate and is not provided by the Organization.

Additional specific requirements necessary for the selection and classification of candidates based on the scope of the Program: 

  1. Successful completion of a written assessment (English, Maths, Physics, Aptitude Test).
  2. Successful assessment of overall profile and personality through personal interview and psychometric test.

The examination and the interview process will take place in September.

The assessment of whether these conditions have been met is carried out at a specific stage as set out below.
 

STAGES FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATION, DOCUMENTATION AND COMPLETING THE CANDIDATURE FOR THE PROGRAMME.

STAGE A' – QUALIFYING


The applications, together with the attachment of the CV, will be submitted exclusively online via the AEGEAN website https://el.about.aegeanair.com/etaireia/programma-ypotrofion-aegean-gia-ekpaideysi-michanikon/aitisi-summetoxis/ (hereinafter referred to as the "Website") and via the special form posted on the Website.
The platform for the submission of application and CV will be open from June 2nd, 2025 and the deadline for submission of the above is July 4th, 2025 23:59.
The CV should be a maximum of 2 A4 pages in English in .doc or .pdf format (files up to 2MB in size).
This should include at least the following information: full name, address, contact details (telephone - email), studies, foreign languages, any professional experience, participation in seminars and training programmes, fulfilled or settled military obligations. This may include additional information which, at AEGEAN's discretion, will be taken into account in assessing the CV as exceptional.

STAGE Β’ - QUALIFYING ROUND 2


Candidates who have submitted an application and CV and meet the above criteria will be notified at the contact details they have provided to submit exclusively electronically to engineerscholarships@aegeanair.com (email subject: "AEGEAN Engineering Scholarship Programme - OPTIONAL NAME"), the following necessary documents as pdf files or as jpeg image files (files up to 3MB in size) to prove that they meet the above criteria:

1. Copy of a high school diploma and/or a higher education degree.
2. Copy of proof of English language competence or copy of a degree from an English-speaking university - see above application criteria.
3. A copy of your identity card/passport.
4. A copy of a recent general criminal record.
5. Certificate of military status for male candidates.

ATTENTION:
only original documents or legally certified copies must be provided.

Additional Supporting Documents to take into account socio-economic criteria, which will be submitted in the same way as mentioned above:
1. Administrative Tax Determination Act (formerly Income Tax Statement): (a) of the parents or persons of whom the candidate is a dependent or persons who financially support the candidate (if any) and (b) of the candidate, if he/she is filing an individual income tax return, fiscal year 2025.
2. Certificate of family status.
3. Any other document that the candidate deems should be considered as evidence of special socioeconomic circumstances.

STAGE C - ASSESSMENT OF SPECIFIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


Candidates who have validly submitted an application will be invited by AEGEAN, at the contact details provided, to participate in the examination of the necessary specific criteria mentioned above. This process will take two (2) days and will be held at a predetermined time per group of candidates at Athens International Airport and the Organization’s premises. 
Any refusal to participate by an applicant constitutes a cancellation of his/her application, as the fulfilment of the above criteria is a prerequisite for inclusion in the Programme due to the specific subject matter.

STAGE D - FINAL SELECTION STAGE

Agreement on the contractual terms and conditions for the fulfillment of the Program and the definition of the obligations and rights of the applicant(s) and the parties to the Program is documented by means of a relevant agreement
Please note that in case of failure to reach a written agreement with the candidate, the application will be cancelled and no scholarship will be awarded.

Important notes:

Sending the application and supporting documents does not imply acceptance of the application. The following is noted in this regard:

The application and supporting documents must be submitted by the deadline as stated above.
Applications and/or supporting documents sent by post or fax or by any other means than those mentioned above will not be taken into consideration.
Applications which are not subsequently supported by all the necessary supporting documents submitted in a clear format or by forged or falsified or non-sharp supporting documents will not be taken into consideration. In all cases, production of the original supporting documents will be requested at the oral interview stage.
Applications supported by documentation that is not in one of the specified file formats will not be considered.
Applications that do not include valid contact details (telephone and/or email) will not be considered.
Applications that do not contain a declaration by the candidate that he/she unreservedly accepts all the terms and conditions of the competition will not be taken into consideration. This declaration is made electronically by ticking the corresponding check box on the application form and constitutes a declaration by the candidate that (a) all the information given in the application form is true and accurate and (b) all the supporting documents submitted are authentic and valid.
Applications that do not contain a declaration by the applicant that he/she unreservedly consents to the collection, processing and retention of his/her personal data will not be taken into consideration.   
More than one application from the same candidate will not be taken into consideration. In such a case, all applications from the same person will be cancelled, even if they have been submitted in due time.
Applications containing inaccurate information or false/genuine supporting documents will not be considered.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS


The examination and evaluation of applications is carried out by a committee set up by AEGEAN in cooperation with the Organization. The evaluation stage requiring an interview and/or assessment of specific requirements will be carried out in English at the discretion of the examiners.

The evaluation will assess:
The criteria for the academic performance of high school diplomas and/or higher education diplomas.
The level of English language skills.
Psychometric test. 
The fulfilment of the necessary specific requirements for the subject of the Program as mentioned above.

They will also be taken into account if the number of those evaluated against the above criteria is greater than the number of scholarships offered:
The CV.
Any socio-economic criteria.

The Evaluation Committee, after completing the process of examination and evaluation of applications, supporting documents and specific requirements, submits a recommendation at its discretion to the AEGEAN Management, which takes the final decision on the selection and classification of candidates and reserves the right to reject the application, without being obliged to justify its decision either to reject or to accept the application.
The process of selection and inclusion in the Program is completed only upon the establishment of a written agreement between the parties.
In case, following the evaluation and selection process, the number of candidates who meet the criteria and complete the stages is less than the number of candidates foreseen, AEGEAN reserves the right to implement the Program with a smaller number of candidates.

DURATION AND STUDY PROGRAM OUTLINE DESCRIPTION


The training at the Organization is 2400 hours long and includes theoretical and practical training in aircraft, laboratories and synthetic training devices. Theoretical and practical training shall alternate in phases according to the subject matter. The above course is implemented at the Part 147 certified Olympic Air Maintenance Training Organization premises.

TYPE AND PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES


The total cost of the Organization’s tuition fees for the AEGEAN approved training programme totals 15.000 €. This amount is covered and paid as follows:
- Candidate: 1,000€ payment at the start of the Program and the remaining amount will be paid in monthly instalments to be repaid over 4 years.
- AEGEAN: 7,500 € as a scholarship to the candidate payable directly to the Organization in three (3) instalments. The disbursement of this amount will be made in stages and will depend on the progress and in any case successful completion of the specified stages of the training by the candidate, at the discretion of the Organization and in accordance with its rules.
- In any case, candidates must be able to justify how they will cover the cost of studies in excess of the above scholarship amount of 7,500€.
Any other costs, expenses, taxes, etc., including but not limited to food, accommodation, travel, etc., associated with the scholarship and/or study are the responsibility of the applicant.

PURPOSE-OTHER CONDITIONS-POST PROGRAM ARRANGEMENTS


Upon successful completion of the training at the Organization and if the engineering candidates are deemed suitable (successful attendance above 90% and collection of required Credit Hours) and  the required operational needs exist, they will be recruited on a priority basis as Aircraft Mechanical Assistants in the AEGEAN Group's maintenance department. If a job is not available immediately, the candidate will be placed on a priority list and any subsequent available positions within a reasonable time will be filled from this list.
The configuration of the syllabus in cooperation with the Training Organization, together with the participation in the related costs required for the training of the candidates, is intended to enable the candidates to complete the training of aircraft engineers and to acquire the necessary qualifications for the exercise of this profession within the AEGEAN Group's workforce, in accordance with the Group's needs.
The untimely withdrawal of the candidate at any of the above-described stages and/or the non-fulfilment of the above-mentioned obligations will, as a matter of course, result in the termination of any obligation of AEGEAN to pay any amount of the scholarship and, in addition, the candidate must immediately repay the amount of the scholarship to AEGEAN. The same criteria apply in the event that the candidate has received training or examination in the subject in question at another educational institution.
The obligations will be further specified in the written agreements to be drawn up at the final selection stage of the candidates as indicated above.
